on the subject of unifrogs

those of you who have watched me for years, back from when i was frequenting elfwood and epilogue regularly will know my unifrogs...anyone who knows me well at all knows of them...so when i typed in unifrog on google to search for one of my unifrogs on elfwood as id lost my favourates link i was not amused when i came across this [link]
this certainly wasnt around at the time i first drew them and yet as is the way of things i will probably get accused of copying the frog on the card....just like after the LOTR films came out i got accused of copying the Mumakil just because id drawn a 4 tusked elephant...several years before any of the films came out -____-

as you can imagine im not best pleased, however the type of money behind yu-gi-oh! means they could hire a whole army of lawyers so really theres nothing i can do. im still not happy about it though. i am willing to accept that people can have similar ideas by freakish co-incidence but my unifrogs have been around for years...i hardly feel its wrong to be suspicious. at least if they try anything with me over mine my online galleries have proof that my ones have been around for years

in any case mine are better, they have goatee beards. *sulk*

looks to me that it's more likely they took the idea for unifrogs from you, actually.

Also, four tusked elephants did exist... so those people whining about copying can go do some research. :p :)

That really sucks, but unfortunately that does happen from time to time. Sometimes people do have similiar ideas at near the same time or even within say a decade. The bad part is it usually boils down to who gets the most press first and markets best. Also if I remember a person only needs to change an item 20% to make it "original" technically. Hence this could be the reason for clean-shaven frogs. I've not been watching your stuff long but I figure you wouldn't be posting about this if you didn't have good reason to be suspicious. Just my :twocents:

Powned! But hey... atleast they're not in the same category as Mudkips. And yes... you as singel artist can't fight their army of lawyers all at once however probebly with allot of effort, 2 maybe 4 years of lawsue work and the will you'll get justice.

Yep I remember your unifrogs, no fan of that card game so didn't know this. You could ofcourse kindly inform etc etc where they got the idea and all, record that, don't tell em who you are or anything regarding that those frogs are yours. Salvage enough info for a decisive strike. I doubt, regardless their mayor money, they would like to fight a long and loosing battle.

Your unifrogs are always the best...I'm dissapointed you don't draw more of them though :(

I thought Unifrogs were something everyone drew though I mean its like dragon frogs and unitigers...you stick wings on the animal, then you give it a horn, then you give it faery wings...I've drawn several Unifrogs...feel guilty now, though I did credit you on the first one I drew. Whoops. :( Don't kill me!

nah i know other people draw them, im more annoyed that ill probably start getting accused of copying the card by people....like when i was drawing a dragon at school and some kid asked why id stolen the Charizard idea from Pokemon -____-

Oh well, at least you will know what they are talking about when they do and be ready with your proof you didn't copy it. Be worse if they accused you before you found out about it.
