this picture kind of...grew, rather then any thought process going into it. im fairly happy with it but theres just something..i dunno...that im not quite happy with, but i dont know what it is... comments and crits are welcome. fire, sky and wings where from photos i took myself but i did use this stock [link]

The reflection strikes me as quite a trick. How do you do that?..... I suppose as I have to pay attention to this in taking the photos, I also notice right away your consistency in lighting.

the relfection was done by selecting the whole area of the angel and the sky, and then copying it merged...then pasting onto a new layer...clicking transform to flip it upside down. i then used transform distort... and played around with the hue/saturation and brightness and contrast before finally going over with the burn brush to darken it furthur....then did some lighting effects over the relfection on a seperate layer as well as the flames that i did on a seperate layer with the layer set to screen...
its sounds more complicated then it is...lol. thanks for your comment. it was a lovely photo.

wow this is amazing and very moving. I like the use of color--the contrast of blue and orange.

Beautiful. Great work on colors. Also great subject. :) The only thing I have a question about is the reflection. It doesn't seem to add up. Is he sitting on the surface of water? Is it just a reflective surface? I'm wondering why his legs and feet are not reflected. It just seems to me like the reflection should be pushed down further, so that the legs and feet are also reflected. I could be really wrong of course. Sometimes I have no idea what I'm talking about. :D
