Artist's Comments

im note sure what inspired this pic, though i have been doing a lot of manips of unicorns in forests recently. i have always drawn unicorns in forests...ever since this picture [link] which i drew when i was around 14/15.
there is somehting quite sinister about this pic and im not sure why...perhaps the vivid contrast of colours and the glowering sky behind. i do not analyse my own pictures much, they just grow...they are very rarely planned.
4 photos used, all my own. a lot of paint over work has been done though.

Nice job!..If I may~ I think perhaps the sinister FX are coming from the fact that ...that is one bad-ass Unicorn...and headed right for the camera...which is YOU...ME and any other viewer..we take it like it's charging US!..no?...anyway who cares of the psychology..of things...no one can stop the world from happening! hehe...love yer Unicorns!:w00t:

i think it's a combination of the dagger shape of the sky above the trees, aimed right at the unicorn[subliminal] and the purple-black area above/behind the unicorn. it's like, light and goodness exist here only for the moment the unicorn is passing through.

the composition is beautiful tho. and teh unicorn is fantastic!

This is so beautiful!

It reminds me of the story Antal Festitics claims to be true, of how he saw a unicorn in the forest one night, galloping towards him..
I've always wanted to go to Einhornhohle since I heard that story

Anyways, I always love the way you draw unicorns. You capture their beauty and gracefullness perfectly :)

This is just lovely - I like your method of photos and paintshop. Its a refreshing alternative to the traditional 'cutting and pasting'. Keep up the fantastic work :)

I think the sinisterness is coming from the red-hued sky and the tinted leaves. It looks almost as if the unicorn is running from a place that is slowly crumbling behind him.. like he's trying to escape from the evil of something..... pollution, maybe? lol

whoo, sorry, went of on a tangent there. :) fav'd!
