this is a commision i have just finished. the woman who commisioned me said that most artists she talked to were unwilling to draw brindled dogs, so i hope shes happy with it, heh. i really like how its turned out. Graphite on Canson Bristol graphic.

I've been doing a lot of abstract painting lately. Extremely abstract. No brush, no paint, no canvas. I just think about it.

Brindle's a hard colour to try to do, but then it's so much more rewarding if you get it right. I used to only really draw things I felt confident I could do well. Now I like to take on a bit of a challenge every now and again, because although it can be frustrating trying to get it right, I just love the feeling when you do finally manage, and step back and take a look at what you've managed to do.
You're saying other artists were unwilling to draw brindle coloured dogs, but even if they had tried, I highly doubt they could have produced anything as amazing as this!
