Artist's Comments

this is one of my favorate horses ive ever met. Lulu is just about 3 now and she has had a rough start to life(i wont go into details, but she was in other hands at the time of her birth when she became very ill. Her owner had a big struggle with her to save her life.) she is one of the most loving horses ive ever met, and will be your best freind for life if you scratch her withers. i am certain she would follow you into the house if she could. She can never be ridden due to the illness she got at birth that damaged her legs, but she is going to stud hopefully next year. She is just an all round wonderful horse...wonderful conformation, paces and nature..but her illness has scarred her badly. this is one of my favorate photos of her... shes a full sister to Kaliakra's diamond and shes Irish Draught x thoroughbred

Oh, she's gorgeous! Is Kaliakras Va Va Voom her full/show name? hee, what a fun name.

I wonder why it is that the horses who've been sick orhurt or have something wrong with them always seem to be the sweetest. There's an appy mare at my barn named Wind who's the biggest teddy bear of a horse I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. I used to ride her - she's lazy and no fun in the ring, but she was a blast on trial rides - always giving little bucks and galloping (which...doesn't sound good but really, it was fun). She can't be riden anymore though because the poor girl's eyes started getting bad and now she's almost totally blind. But she's more cuddly than ever.

Hmm, sorry for rambling ;) Anyway, wow, you really rock at photography! All these photos that you've been uploading just look so professional :D

Shame on me, wanting you,
The way I fantasize about,
What I'd give, what I'd do,
I just wanna work you out,
Times like this, I'm so glad,
That you can't read my mind,
Shame on me, another time.

Very good picture, looks almost unreal. Great work!

heh thanks, ive got 3 cameras in total, a Canon EOS 35ml camera which i dont use very often as ive been banned from using cameras with film, and a fuji finepiz 2800zoom....a good little camera and it did take some good shots, but it is nowhere near as fun to use as my Minolta Dimage A1. ive got an obsession with cameras i really do, ive taken over 20,000 photos in the last 3 years. Its just a sideline to my art really, but i think im getting better at it and i seem to have the knack at photographing horses. i want a full professional camera someday, but it will be a long time before i can afford one. i want a digital backed SLR one day.

Yes that is her show name, her stable name is Lulu. Some people think she is quite plain looking but i think she is gorgeous. she gets dreadlocks if her mane isnt brushed for a few weeks. to me she has always reminded me of the book My Freind Flicka..shes practically the same colour. this doesnt show her colour properly as the saturation has been toned down. i dont know why i like to do this but i think it gives pictures a surreal look. ill post some more photos of her soon, though you'll have to forgive the scars on her legs if i show her from the side.

Only thing more beautiful than the mare is the countryside behind her.

I think I agree with the person above me. Countryside is beautiful, but horse is too :)
